Noise For The Needy does good

I just received a press release that gave the fundraising totals for the 2007 Noise For The Needy. Here's the blurb:

Annual music festival Noise for the Needy (NFTN) raised nearly $24,000 in operating support for local Seattle organization Rise n’ Shine. Rise n’ Shine provides emotional support programs, stability, advocacy, and AIDS education for children and teens affected by HIV and AIDS.

...

The NFTN festival ran from June 5 to 10, 2007 at Neumos, The Tractor Tavern, Chop Suey, The Comet Tavern, Nectar Lounge, Sunset Tavern, The Funhouse and The Baltic Room. Lineups included such bands as Okkervil River, Sera Cahoone, CSS, The Handsome Family, Common Market, The Cops, Head like a Kite, Tall Birds, Das Llamas, Grayskul, Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, The Lights, Thee Emergency, Key Note Speaker, and more.

Congratulations on your good work, NFTN. Any of you who missed your chance to support them back in June can now do so at the KEXP Barbeque on August 18, as they've been added as a featured nonprofit.
